Smiles are something we all have to give
No matter how poor we may be.
It takes but a moment to give it
But it can last an eternity.
Regardless of the riches you possess –
You are poor if you cannot smile,
For smiles hold the key to happiness
That makes our lives worthwhile.
Smiles give hope to the weary,
They cheer those who are sad,
They comfort those who are teary,
Because of some heartache they’ve had.
They cannot be begged, borrowed or stolen
For they have no value until given away –
Yet the joy they bring is golden,
For those who need them each day.
If you find someone who has no smiles to give
Won’t you give them one of your own?
Thus you will brighten the corner where you live
With the smile seeds you have sown.
