He had only love to give,
He gave it freely where he lived
His clothes were poor, they had no style
He hid them with a sunny smile.

His life was filled with trials and cares,
Yet thoughts of others filled his prayers.
He thanked God that he had a bed
On which to lay his weary head.

When Christmas time came ’round to call,
He wished good cheer to one and all
He thanked God that his eyes could see
The lights shine on the Christmas Tree.

His blessings he was glad to share
To lift another’s load of care
True Christmas Spirit, well I’d say
That man lived it every day.
