Once more that blessed season of Christmas draws near,
The most wonderful season of all the year,
When the Christmas Carols and Candlelight,
Remind us of that Holy Night,
That God sent his son to be born on earth,
Though he was born of lowly birth,
Won no great honors while he lived,
He delivered the message he came to give,
That it is through trustful faith in God above,
We bring peace and joy to this world we love.
They were amazed at the miracles he performed,
How he stilled the waves in the time of storm
Cured the sick, gave sight to the blind,
Multiplied loaves and fishes, turned water to wine.
And he could talk in such an understandable way
That crowds gathered to listen to what he had to say.
There were whispers among them “who can he be” ?
His growing power worried the Scribes and the Pharisees
They too were amazed at what he had done,
But they refused to believe this carpenter could bo God’s Son,
That he had come to shed his blood to save a world from sin,
So they started to plot and plan to be rid of him.
His words of wisdom were denied,
He was scorned spat on and crucified,
And yet he has lived through generations
An everlasting light to guide all nations
Nineteen centuries have come and gone,
And his blessed name lives on and on,
No man in all the annuals of history
Has done so much for humanity.
We thank thee Dear God for the gift of thy son
Who taught us to say “THY WILL BE DONE”.
