Dear Mom – 80 years behind you
We hope many more ahead,
But of the 80 years you’ve lived
There is so much to be said.
How you nursed us thru each illness,
Stood beside us thru each trial;
Brought us happiness and courage
With your comfort and your smile.
You’ve been a wonderful mother,
You’ve made your children proud.
Here or away until your dying day,
We shall sing your praises loud.
You chose a splendid partner
To be our own dear Dad,
He’ll always be remembered
As the best father children had.
Together you set an example
We are proud to copy from
And ask no greater honors
Than those you’ve already won.
That our children will think of us
As we think of you today,
Is a dream, your children cherish,
God grant ’twill come our way.
This world would be a better place
If it only had,
More children blessed with parents
Like our Mother and our Dad.
So, congratulations Mom
For 80 years you’ve lived so well,
And may the future hold
More joys than words can tell.

Each daughter and each son,
